Program Description:
Dear Prospective Global Ambassador:
 
We are excited that you are considering to apply to be a Global Ambassador for Study Abroad at ECU! This exclusive, competitive placement is in its seventh year at East Carolina University, and as a Global Ambassador you will be building a legacy of internationalization on campus. As a Global Ambassador, you will be asked to complete 40 service hours over the course of the 2022-2023 Academic Year. These hours can be completed in a number of ways, but here are a few examples: by participating in our events (like our Study Abroad Fair!), helping with our classroom presentations, sharing your personal study abroad experiences at our weekly information sessions, or sharing your study abroad photos and stories on our social media. The following information should aid you as you complete the attached application.
 
Online applications are due by 11:59pm on July 28, 2024. Applicants are welcome to apply sooner. 
 
Global Ambassador RetreatApplicants are required to be full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students who have studied abroad for at least 14 days through ECU prior to the fall 2024 semester. Global Ambassadors will be required to attend monthly meetings* throughout the academic year, with day and time to be determined. Global Ambassadors must also be able to attend a MANDATORY training. This training is imperative because you will learn vital information about the program and receive training crucial for performing duties as a Global Ambassador. This year, the training will be offered on August 16th, 830am-12pm. 
 
Selected participants will be interviewed. Applicants will be notified by email by August 1st if they are selected to interview. Interviews will be conducted August 5th - 12th based on availability. Finalists will be notified whether they have been chosen as 2022-2023 Global Ambassadors via email on August 13th.

*Accommodations can be made for students who have required classes or other academic obligations that conflict with meeting times. However, accommodations cannot be made for the mandatory training, all new Ambassadors must attend.
